About SMSA

Stittsville Minor Softball Association's (SMSA) mandate is to provide affordable recreational and all star (select) softball programs (Fastball rules) for youth in the community of Stittsville and surrounding rural area where softball is currently not offered. SMSA players range in age from 5 to 20 years old. We also have all star (select) teams (from house league players) that play against teams in the greater Ottawa area and Eastern Ontario.

SMSA registered over 600 youth players in 2009. Through new marketing programs and ongoing efforts of the Board, we have managed to stabilize the number of registrants over the past three years in the 550+ range, despite provincial figures indicating softball enrollment has declined in many communities. Softball is open to all male and female youth in and around the Stittsville area and the Association has strived to maintain affordable registration fees to encourage wide spread participation.

Our regular season runs from May 1st until the weekend following the third week in June for Fun League and Mites and Squirts, and the last weekend of June for Peewee, Bantam and Midget. In participation with other Minor Softball Associations in the Ottawa area, each year inter-league rules and game schedules are established. The organization also holds a House League Tournament in late June. This enables all teams to enjoy the added excitement of tournament play at no extra cost to the regular season fees. The season ends with playoff rounds and a championship final game in each division.

Stittsville Minor Softball Association is a proud member of the Play Softball Network!
