COVID-19 Update

UpdatedWednesday March 18, 2020 bySMSA.

During this uncertain and rapidly evolving time, we wanted to let our community know that the SMSA is here to help protect our athletes, our fans, and our upcoming season. We are keeping in close communication with Softball Canada, Softball Ontario, the City of Ottawa and other affiliated associations to ensure our 56ers family is kept safe and in the know.

At this time, our upcoming umpire clinic and coaching certification weekends in April are still scheduled to proceed. Softball Ontario is monitoring the situation closely and will notify us of any change in programming.

All indoor winter ball training, pitching development and indoor practices are postponed until further notice.

Fun League, House League and the coaching certification are still open for registration – so please register with confidence because we believe we will come out of this stronger than ever, together. Should anything change, and cancellations are necessary – we as well as Softball Ontario will be offering full refunds to all SMSA registrants.

We are cautiously yet optimistically moving forward with plans for a full season ahead of us, and will make any adjustments we can to accommodate this exceptional situation.

We appreciate your dedication and on-going support.
